Art Lesson
Art lesson
Both people with and without talent can enroll for an art lesson. For people with talent, these lessons serve to further enhance their knowledge and skill of the arts. For people who do not have the talent, these lessons serve to introduce them to the arts. These lessons can be offered in formal schools or in informal programs.
Types
Since there are many types of art, there are also many types of art lessons. For beginner art classes, these lessons often involve introducing the students to different kinds of art in different stages of the program. For advanced students, the art lesson can focus on a type or technique of artwork. Art can be learned formally in school. This can be offered as elective classes or can be part of the school curriculum. In college, students who love the arts can become an art major. Art can also be offered informally such as in galleries or in institutions where the artist offers to teach students his or her knowledge in the art he or she is good at.
Art as Formal Learning
When studying art formally, students are not only taught the basics of art, he or she is taught the history of art as well. In formal art classes, students have to learn the history of art, the forefathers of art, and the artworks of these legendary figures who gave the world today famous works of arts.
Art as Informal Learning
An art lesson being given informally is very fun and is often enrolled by students who wish to learn art. The setting need not be in school, because it can be offered in parks, in centers or in galleries. In an informal setting, students are learned the basics of arts and its applications. Teachers do not go deep into the history of art when informal learning is involved, though the teacher can use examples of legendary artists.
Art Application
Part of every art lesson is for the student to be assigned art projects. The projects serve to gauge whether the student has grasped the lesson for the day well. It also serves as a practical application of the lesson he or he has learned for the day.
Where to get lessons
There are numerous opportunities to learn art. People can look at ads in the newspaper or ads in the school or public bulletin to see postings of an art lesson being offered. If a person is talented in art, he or she can offer lessons to the public.
